 Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What sites do you list?
Any non-commercial website based in Lewisham that may provide useful information or service to the community

  2. Is there a quality threshold?
Yes. The site must be reasonably up to date and be genuinely useful to others. We would expect it to be several pages and have its own domain (although we do make exceptions). It should be legal, honest & decent. Don't worry - if there is a problem we will share it with you and try and help you get round it.

  3. How do I apply?
Simply register in our Forum <here> and post in the 'Suggest Website' category. Please include your connection with the website if applicable and what section you feel is most appropriate. We should normally respond within a day or so (but we do take very occasional holidays).

  4. Can I join in?
Yes please. You can become a Lewisham Online Member simply by having your website listed and incorporating a return link to LO (don't forget to let us know by post to the Forum). You will be invited to informal 'editorial meetings' to discuss policy and the meaning of life. Rule is by consensus...

  5. Can I include your links on my site?
Yes. An attribution would be nice. Its your choice, copy it across, point to our directory directly - or if you are a member we can supply you the database and an example perl script to generate the link list on your own site.

  6. Do you have any links to the Council, a political party ...?
No. We are just an informal group of community webmasters sharing our skills. Some of us would like to co-operate with the council in the disemination and use of information affecting our locality (planning applications for example). We hope council officers will work with us for the benefit of the community.

  7. I've spotted a broken link/error/bug ...
Yep - websites often go AWOL and we are far from perfect. So please tell us (use the Forum) and we will fix it.
